Save the Date - 2019-20 Data Champions Virtual Poster Session - August 3 & 4, 2020
The Data Champions Program team cordially invites all faculty and staff to participate in the Data Champions Virtual Poster Session on Monday, August 3rd and Tuesday, August 4th, 2020 : 2-3pm*. The event will take place virtually and will feature projects completed by 20 Data Champions from divisions across campus.
This is your chance to take a first-hand look at the data-informed projects initiated by your colleagues and to support their efforts to improve student success. All projects are focused on identifying areas where we can improve our service to students and range from assessing the impact of Student Success Centers, analyzing Beginning College Student Engagement Survey (BCSSE), exploring equity gaps in course outcomes and student engagement, as well as evaluation and exploratory discoveries. The aim of the program is to encourage the use of data to identify areas for improvement and to help find solutions to put into action through building a community of data users and student success advocates.
*Featured poster presentations will be the same on both event days.
2018-19 Data Champions Program Poster Session
Thank you to everyone who attended last year’s Data Champions poster session! While the poster session represented the culmination of last year's program, we encourage you to communicate your findings with colleagues and turn these discoveries into action to support our students. We also want to encourage you to promote the use of data to support evidence-based decision-making. Be a Data Champion!

Data Champions Program Overview
The Data Champions Program brings together selected campus administrators, faculty, and staff in an effort to facilitate data-informed decision-making in support of student success. The program is motivated by the CSU Graduation Initiative 2025 (GI2025), SDSU strategic goals, and efforts to expand University data capabilities. By becoming proficient in the data tools available, Data Champions are empowered to identify potential predictors of and barriers to student success and to collaborate with colleagues to develop data-informed programs and initiatives in support of student success. Each college nominates one faculty, staff or administrator to serve as their Data Champion. Data Champion Coaches assist Data Champions and their College Student Success Teams by providing hands-on training, analyses support and consultation on institutional data.
